Computer vision technology is changing the world. It's used to make Tesla driverless cars. Pilots use it for taking off and landing jets. Doctors use it to identify cancerous tumors in an MRI scan. Manufacturers use it to detect defects and improve productivity. Farmers use it to monitor crops and detect pests.
Computer vision enables machines to interpret, analyze and gather useful information from images and video. It’s a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that helps computers recognize objects, people and patterns. Computer vision replicates human sight and automatically derives meaningful information.
I believe computer vision could open up new exciting opportunities for casinos. Smart cameras will essentially automate surveillance, provide more effective table games protection and valuable never-before-seen business intelligence to assist casino executives maximize profits.
In this White Paper
In this paper I take a look at how computer vision technology is evolving and how it could be a game changer for casinos.
This is not a technical white paper. It’s my vision for the future of casino surveillance and table games. In it, I lay out the current problem, put forward a case for computer vision as a solution and give my vision for what could be, including the following 4 major benefits that would positively impact the casino’s bottom line:
* determining true player value
* dealer proficiency
* games protection
* game performance analysis
